A few words about me
I come from the beautiful island of Cyprus. I have studied in my home town Nicosia, before going to Greece for undergraduate studies. I spent five great years in Athens, studying at NTUA. After my graduation, I joined CCSR at the University of Surrey in Guildford to start my academic career as a PhD researcher. Today I am back to my birthplace, staying close to research and innovation through my work at KIOS Research Center of University of Cyprus.
Scuba-diving and photography are my favourite hobbies. I enjoy taking photos of natural landscapes and macro shots of objects. Capturing close-up images brings unnoticed details around us to our attention. Underwater photography combines both hobbies and I normally carry my loyal Canon S70 in its underwater casing on dive expeditions. Unfortunately, this is not very often!
The best places I have dived are the coral reefs of Veligandu in the Maldives and Dutchman\’s Reef in Trinidad and Tobago. The spectacular Zenobia wreck in Cyprus is definitely worth mentioning. Being born on an island, I love the sea and all that relates to it.
